No. 18 Mississippi State Vs. No. 14 Florida: Gators Cruise, 69-57, Over Bulldogs

The Florida Gators beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs 69-57 on Saturday to move to one-game behind Kentucky in the SEC standings.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs never led in the second half, as the Florida Gators cruised to a 69-57 victory on Saturday. Freshman guard Bradley Beal led the way with a 19-point outing that including three 3-pointers on four attempts.

More impressive was the Gators' effort defensively. The Bulldogs committed 14 turnovers and were held without a point for a 4:36 stretch late in the second half. Dee Bost and Arnett Moultrie were both held well below their season averages with 12 points each. Moultrie is considered a potential lottery pick in the upcoming NBA draft, but shot just 4-for-10 for the game, well below his 56 percent season average, and committed six turnovers.

Erik Murphy and Erving Walker also added 14 and 10 points, respectively, for the Gators. The win was Florida's fifth straight, moving them one game behind Kentucky in the SEC standings.
