No. 1 Kentucky Vs. LSU: Wildcats Dominate Tigers, Win 74-50

The No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats showed why they’re the best team in the country, blowing out LSU 74-50 on the road.

Anyone who thought that going on the road in the Bayou was going to be a potential trap for the No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats changed their tune quickly, as Calipari's star-studded team completely dismantled the LSU Tigers, 74-50.

Led by a supercharged performance by SEC Player of the Year candidate Terrence Jones, who finished with 27 points, nine rebounds, three blocks, two steals and no turnovers, the Wildcats dominated early and only kept extending their lead. They were up nine points at halftime, but never let the Tigers sniff the lead in the second half. The projected No. 1 pick in this year’s NBA draft, freshman Anthony Davis, had another superb game with 16 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, going 6-6 from the field. The Wildcats had just six turnovers all game, astounding considering their youth.

Freshman big man Johnny O’Bryant led the Tigers with 12 points and nine rebounds, but LSU simply didn’t have enough talent to compete. They shot 15 fewer free throws, made just one of their nine three-point attempts and were outrebounded by 10. They fell to 2-5 in SEC play and 12-9 overall. The Wildcats will retain their hold on the No. 1 ranking and move to 21-1 and 7-0 in the conference.
