No. 15 Marquette Vs. Seton Hall: Jae Crowder Records Double-Double In Golden Eagles Win

Marquette won their seventh straight in the Big East on Tuesday with their defeat of Seton Hall

At the end of their non-conference schedule and in their first three conference games, the Marquette Golden Eagles were a see-saw team who looked like they could be headed for Big East mediocrity. They've looked extremely consistent since their Jan. 7 loss to then-No. 1 Syracuse, however, and they ripped off their seventh straight win against the Seton Hall Pirates on Tuesday. Buzz Williams' team is now 19-4 on the year and 8-2 in the Big East, thanks to Tuesday's 66-59 win.

Leading scorer Darius Johnson-Odom was not at his best, shooting 4-12 from the field, but Jae Crowder was excellent, turning in 20 points and 12 rebounds. Marquette also got an excellent performance out of Vander Blue, who provided 16 points and eight assists.

Seton Hall led wire to wire in the first half, never surrendering their second-minute lead as they went into the locker room up 30-26. They would carry that lead well into the second half, but once Vander Blue gave Marquette the lead just before the second half's under-12 media timeout, the Golden Eagles would not relinquish it. Seton Hall kept it close and threatened to get back into the game late, but some clutch free throw shooting down the stretch from Crowder and Junior Cadougan sealed Marquette's victory.
