Michigan State’s Draymond Green “Day-To-Day” With Knee Sprain

Michigan State star Draymond Green is day-to-day after suffering a left knee sprain which looked like it could have been much worse.

Michigan State announced Wednesday that senior star Draymond Green has a left knee sprain and is "day-to-day."

Green fell to the floor clutching the knee during late in the second half of the Spartans’ loss to Illinois on Tuesday. He eventually hopped back to the MSU bench and did not return to the game. Later, reporters saw Green leave Assembly Hall on crutches with a heavy icepack on his knee, sparking rumors that the injury could potentially be season-ending.

Michigan State quashed any doubt over Green’s status by tweeting late Wednesday morning: “MRI reveals left knee sprain for forward Draymond Green. His status is day-to-day. MSU hosts Michigan Sunday.”

Green is averaging 14.9 points and 10.3 rebounds for the 9th-ranked Spartans. He is second on the team in assists (3.5) and leads in blocked shots (1.1) and steals (1.5).
