Horizon League Tournament 2012: Bracket And Schedule Announced

Valparaiso is the No. 1 seed in the 2012 Horizon League Tournament and Butler faces an uphill road to the NCAA Tournament.

The Butler Bulldogs may yet have a chance to prolong their incredible streak of NCAA Tournament success and aim for a third consecutive NCAA Tournament final appearance come March. But the Bulldogs will likely need to win their conference tournament to go dancing, and they aren't the top seed for the 2012 Horizon League Tournament — in fact, Butler isn't even second-seeded.

Butler is tied for third in the Horizon League, but will be the No. 5 seed in the Horizon League Tournament bracket, behind No. 1 Valparaiso, No. 2 Cleveland State, No. 3 Detroit and No. 4 Milwaukee. Butler will meet No. 8 Wright State at home to begin the tournament, and the Bulldogs’ path to the Horizon League title and the automatic NCAA Tournament berth will be on the line.

Here’s the full 2012 Horizon League Tournament bracket and schedule. All times are Eastern.
