The three leading candidates to secure the automatic berth that comes with the NEC Tournament crown are No. 1 Long Island, No. 2 Wagner, and No. 3 Monmouth, all of whom come into the tournament with at least 22 wins and 13 wins in conference. But in a tournament played on campus sites, Long Island, undefeated at home in conference, may have the upper hand with the highest seed.
