No. 2 Syracuse Vs. St. John’s: Orange Cruise To 95-70 Win At Madison Square Garden
The No. 2 Syracuse Orange rolled over the St. John’s Red Storm, 95-70, on Saturday. Fab Melo returned to score 14 points.
The Red Storm shot well from outside, going 7-for-15 from behind the 3-point arc. Inside was another story. Syracuse had a 38-25 rebounding advantage for the game, including a 14-9 advantage on offensive rebounds leading to second-chance opportunities. Six of those offensive rebounds came from Kris Joseph, on his way to eight total and 13 points.
D’Angelo Harrison did the most damage for the Red Storm on Saturday, scoring 23 points on five made 3-pointers and 8-for-12 from the free throw line. Moe Harkless added 15 points and eight rebounds, but in the end it wasn’t enough to overcome a 55.7 percent shooting performance by the Orange.
