No. 16 Virginia Vs. No. 21 Florida State: Noles Survive Late Rally By The Cavaliers

The Florida State Seminoles held on to upset the Virginia Cavaliers 58-55 on Saturday.

The Florida State Seminoles were up 13 points with just over eight minutes to go in the second half, but a 12-0 run by the Virginia Cavaliers made it a ball game. The Cavaliers took a brief 45-44 lead inside the five-minute mark, but the Noles punched back with some timely 3-pointers to secure a 58-55 win at home.

The Seminoles relied on a variety of players on their way to a 47.8 percent shooting performance. Okaro White averages just over 22 minutes per game, but he made the most of his minutes Saturday to lead FSU with 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting. Center Xavier Gibson added 10 points and five rebounds. Michael Snaer struggled early, but hit both of his 3-pointers in the last 4:30 of the game, giving him eight points on the day.

Mike Scott had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Cavaliers, but also committed seven turnovers. Joe Harris also had 16 points, but went 5-for-12 shooting to get there.
