No. 8 Marquette vs. Cincinnati: Bearcats Upset Golden Eagles, 72-61

With a 72-61 win over Marquette, the Cincinnati Bearcats have now won six of their last eight heading into the Big East tournament.

The Cincinnati Bearcats remain on a hot streak heading toward the Big East Tournament, opening up a 16-point halftime lead in defeating the No. 8 Marquette Golden Eagles 72-61 at Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio, Wednesday night.

Guard Jaquon Parker went 10-of-18 from the floor to lead the Bearcats with 28 points. Fellow guard Dion Dixon added 21 points while forward Yancy Gates grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds. Following a three-game losing streak in mid-January, Cincinnati has now won six of their last eight to improve to 21-9 overall and 11-6 in the Big East, with a regular season finale at the Villanova Wildcats set for Saturday afternoon.

For the No. 8 Golden Eagles, guard Darius Johnson-Odom had a team-high 18 points while forward Jae Crowder finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds. The loss was just the sixth of the season for Marquette, who are now 24-6 overall, 13-4 in the Big East and host the Georgetown Hoyas at the Bradley Center on Saturday.
