SEC Tournament 2012, Florida Vs. Kentucky: Game Time, TV Schedule And More

The Florida Gators will take on the No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats in Saturday’s 2012 SEC Tournament semifinal game in New Orleans. Both teams survived scares from lower-seeded teams in the quarterfinals to advance.

The Florida Gators will take on the Kentucky Wildcats in the first 2012 SEC Tournament semifinal game of the day on Saturday. Both teams escaped with close wins in the quarterfinals.

The Wildcats looked particularly sloppy on Friday, taking a slight one-point lead into halftime against the eighth-seeded LSU Tigers. Kentucky pulled away in the second half for a 60-51 win, but not before committing 18 turnovers to go with just five assists. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist led the way with 19 points, though he didn't get much help from his supporting cast.

The Gators never trailed against the Alabama Crimson Tide, but Friday's quarterfinal was a nailbiter nonetheless. The Tide overcame a 12-point deficit midway through the second half, pulling within two points late thanks to a rally spurred on by JaMychal Green. The three-point line bailed out a 38.5 percent shooting performance by the Gators. They will need to be much more efficient if the hope to take out a UK squad vying for the top overall seed in the 2012 NCAA Tournament.

Saturday’s game will tip off at 1:00 p.m ET on ABC. The winner will play in the SEC Championship Game at 1:00 p.m on Sunday.
