Ole Miss Vs. Vanderbilt Score: Commodores Lead Rebels By 2 After Ugly First Half

The Mississippi Rebels are trying to continue their improbable run through the SEC Tournament Saturday afternoon, and they're locked in a mostly ugly contest against the Vanderbilt Commodores through the first half. The score is 25-23 with Vandy holding a slight lead , and, other than a few highlight-reel dunks, this one hasn't been pretty.

Vanderbilt's star, John Jenkins, is known as being a lights-out shooter, but the rim looks like it has about a one-centimeter diameter to him so far; he's shot 4-12 and 2-9 from the three-point line. The Commodores have stayed relatively disciplined — they've committed only six turnovers — but haven't shot well, as evidenced by their 34.5 percent team field goal percentage.

As poorly as Vandy has shot, the Rebels have been even worse. Jarvis Summers has shot 3-5 and has 11 points, but no one else has been able to get anything to go, and it's resulted in, well, a 23-point first half. Terrance Henry and Nick Williams were key catalysts in the first two rounds of the SEC Tournament, but they have shot a combined 0-8 form the field so far.
