After Michigan upset Ohio State 56-51 on national TV three weeks ago, the Buckeyes came out determined and looking for revenge in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament Saturday.
Michigan Vs. Ohio State: Buckeyes Out To 34-21 Halftime Lead
Jared Sullinger took advantage of an undersized Wolverine front line with one of his best performances of the season, getting 16 points and six rebounds on 8-10 shooting in the first half.
Michigan's offense, meanwhile, could not get on track in the first 20 minutes, as the Wolverines went only 1-13 from beyond the arc. Freshman PG Trey Burke, who had a career-high 30 points against Minnesota on Friday, came back to Earth against Ohio State's feisty perimeter defenders, shooting 0-5 from the floor while turning the ball over three times.
But despite their abysmal outside shooting, Michigan is still in the game because of the lack of offensive production outside of Sullinger or Deshaun Thomas for Ohio State, as the two sophomores have 24 of Ohio State's 34 points.
