NIT Tournament 2012, La Salle Vs. Minnesota: Gophers Win 70-61

Tubby Smith's talented young Minnesota Golden Gophers team is going to have at least one more opportunity to gain some quality postseason experience heading into next year. They struggled from behind the three-point line, but performed well in all other facets of their game en route to a 70-61 victory over the La Salle Explorers.

Rodney Williams led the Gophers and all scorers with 21 points on 9-of-17 shooting. He was one of three Gophers to record six rebounds, helping his team to a plus-10 rebounding differential. La Salle shot a respectable 47 percent from the floor and hit five of 10 three-point shots, but the Explorers’ 18 turnovers were their ultimate undoing.
