The Marquette Golden Eagles have passed their first two tests at the 2012 NCAA Tournament with flying colors, but it gets more difficult as March Madness progresses. The team's next test will be matching up with the Florida Gators for the right to advance to the Elite Eight.
NCAA Tournament 2012, Marquette Vs. Florida: TV Schedule, Game Time And More
The Florida Gators are hoping for another blowout victory when they play the Marquette Golden Eagles in Thursday night’s Sweet 16 game, but odds are it won’t be quite as easy as their first two games in the 2012 NCAA Tournament.
The No. 3 Golden Eagles will play the No. 7 Gators in the second game of a TBS doubleheader on Thursday night in a game scheduled for 10:17 p.m. -- or whenever the earlier game between Louisville and Michigan State ends, of course.
Marquette's been led by two players all season so it shouldn't be surprising that the trend has continued in the Big Dance. Jae Crowder finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds in last weekend's victory over Murray State while his partner in crime, Darius Johnson-Odom, matched the 17-point total.
The Gators have been the most impressive team in the tournament if anyone wants to judge them based on point differential as they've blown out Norfolk State and Virginia by a combined 70 points in their first two games of March Madness. Kenny Boynton led them in their most recent victory, for what it's worth, with 20 of the team's 84 points.
