Austin Rivers Leaving Duke, Will Enter NBA Draft

Austin Rivers, considered by many to be on the bubble on a return to Duke for his sophomore season, will enter the 2012 NBA Draft, reports CBS Sports' Jeff Goodman. Rivers is expected to land between the late lottery and the high teens in the first round. DraftExpress currently lists Rivers as the No. 18 draft-eligible prospect in the world.

Rivers, a 6-foot, 3-inch, two-guard, averaged 15 points per game for the Blue Devils, but Duke disappointed in the NCAA Tournament, meeting its end against No. 15 seed Lehigh in the first round. Rivers is the son of Boston Celticshead coach Doc Rivers, and as such will likely receive a substantial boost in draft stock given how respected the elder Rivers was as a player and is as a coach.

Teams looking for two-guards in Rivers' range include Cavaliers, Suns, Nets, Mavericks and -- strangely enough -- Celtics.
