Loyola Makes The 2012 NCAA Tournament, And Jimmy Patsos Becomes March’s Best Quote

When Loyola won its MAAC Tournament final against Fairfield on Monday night, the Greyhounds punched their first NCAA Tournament dance ticket since 1994. And, more importantly, scribes from sea to shining sea rejoiced, because it means that Loyola coach Jimmy Patsos will be talking in March.

Patsos didn’t wait long after the Greyhounds won to display his gift of gab:

Oh, and Patsos, who took the Loyola job after the Greyhounds went 1-27 in 2003, was the guy who memorably decided to double Davidson's Stephen Curry for an entire game, only to lose by 30. The Mid-Majority's Kyle Whelliston has the definitive Patsos profile -- you should read it, and you should be ready for every one of your favorite college-basketball writers to spend the next fortnight loosing their best Patsos stories on Twitter.
