Dayton Vs. George Washington Final Score: Flyers Cruise To 67-50 Victory

Devin Oliver scored 19 with eight rebounds to lead the Dayton Flyers over the George Washington Colonials, 67-50, in the first round of the 2012 Atlantic 10 Tournament. With the win, the sixth-seeded Flyers advance to the second round, where they will face third-seeded Xavier in Atlantic City, N.J., on Friday.

George Washington struggled to find the basket all night, shooting just 34.5 percent from the field as a team and 21.4 percent (3-of-14) from three-point land. Junior David Pellom was the team's lone bright spot, scoring 18 points with 10 rebounds off the bench. None of the team's five starters cracked double-digit scoring or finished with more than five rebounds. The Colonials, who finished 17-14 in Karl Hobbs' final season in 2010-11, finished 10-21 in Mike Lonergan's first season as head coach.

The Flyers, on the other hand, relied upon a well-balanced attack with four players reaching double-digits. Kevin Dillard finished with 13 points and eight assists, while Paul Williams and Josh Parker each added 10 points. As a team, Dayton shot 51.2 percent from the field.

Dayton split its season series with Xavier, winning at home on Jan. 21 before falling in overtime on the road on Feb. 18. Both schools are considered to be on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament, and this game could easily determine who ends up getting the nod.
