Pac-12 Tournament Bracket Update: Late Rally Powers Arizona Over UCLA, 66-58

There was no such thing as home court advantage for UCLA on Thursday. Home court advantage belonged to Arizona’s Solomon Hill, an LA native, who led his team to a 66-58 win in the second round of the Pac-12 tournament.

Hill scored 25 points and added 12 rebounds in the win. He was not the only Arizona player with a double-double. Jesse Perry scored 16 and had 12 rebounds of his own. Hill and Perry combined to sink 24 of 27 free throws to give Arizona an edge.

Arizona broke a 51-51 tie late in the second half with a 10-2 run. The Bruins made it interesting in the final 90 seconds, scoring five points to close the gap to 62-58. Arizona added four more on free throws to end the game.

Lazeric Jones led the Bruins with 17 points and five assists. Jerime Anderson had 14 points, four rebounds and four assists.

UCLA made just two of 12 three-point attempts, compared to five of 15 for Arizona. Solomon Hill hit three of six three-pointers.

On paper, it looks like the Wildcats get a break, facing ninth-seeded Oregon State rather than Washington, the tournament’s top seed. Of course, Oregon State is riding high after the upset, so anything can happen on Friday. That game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Pacific on Friday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
