ACC Tournament 2012, Miami vs. Georgia Tech: Hurricanes Blowout Yellow Jackets, 54-36

The Miami Hurricanes used an 18-0 run over a nearly five-minute stretch to erase a three-point second half deficit and down the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 54-36 in the finale of the opening round of the 2012 ACC Tournament.

Miami's run was led by a pair of three-pointers by Rion Brown, who finished with 10 points and five rebounds on the night. Freshman guard Shane Larkin had a team-high 12 points with three assists and three steals for the Hurricanes, who also got 11 points and seven rebounds from guard Durand Scott.

Both schools struggled offensively, combining to go 32-of-99 from the floor and six-of-34 (17.6 percent) on three-point attempts.

For the Yellowjackets, who finish their season with an 11-20 overall record and 4-12 mark in the ACC, junior guard Mfon Udofia had a team-high 13 points with fellow guard Brandon Reed adding 11. The Yellowjackets had 20 turnovers on the night, doubling the 10 by the Hurricanes.

Miami improves to 19-11 on the season and advances to face the Florida St. Seminoles on Friday. The Hurricanes were 1-1 against the Seminoles this season, including a 78-62 in Coral Gables on Feb. 26.
