Central Michigan guard Trey Zeigler, son of fired Central Michigan coach Ernie Zeigler, will transfer to Pitt, his father told ESPN's Andy Katz on Saturday.
Trey Zeigler Will Transfer From Central Michigan To Pitt
Central Michigan’s Trey Zeigler is Pittsburgh-bound.

Ernie Zeigler served as an assistant coach at Pitt with current Pittsburgh coach Jamie Dixon under Ben Howland, then followed Howland to UCLA before being hired at Central Michigan in 2006.
Pittsburgh beat out UCLA and Duke for Trey Ziegler, and could get a massive boost from the transfer, a top recruit from the Class of 2011 who chose to stay home at Central Michigan and play for his father instead of heading to Westwood to play for Howland. Ziegler averaged 15.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore, and has a slashing style that could help the Panthers in their transition from the rugged Big East to the more uptempo ACC. Zeigler will have two seasons of eligibility remaining, beginning in 2013-14, the season Pitt is supposed to begin playing in the ACC.
