Amile Jefferson, a five-star prospect who had been the highest remaining uncommitted recruit in the country, will play his college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils next season.
Duke Lands 5-Star Recruit Amire Jefferson
Amile Jefferson, who had been the highest uncommitted recruit left in the country, committed to play basketball at Duke on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-8 power forward out of Friends’ Central, Pa., School made the announcement at a press conference held inside his high school gymnasium on Tuesday afternoon. Jefferson picked the Blue Devils over fellow finalists N.C. State, Kentucky, Villanova and Ohio State.
Jefferson, who was a McDonald’s All-American, averaged 19.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game during his senior season. He ended his high school career by becoming the first player in the history of Pennsylvania’s Albert C. Donofrio Classic to win the tournament in four consecutive seasons.
At Duke, Jefferson will join a Blue Devil frontcourt that returns Mason Plumlee, but was still in desperate need of both depth and skill.
