Notre Dame forward Tim Abromaitis has been denied a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA and will not appeal the decision, the school announced Tuesday.
NCAA Denies Sixth Year Of Eligibility For Notre Dame’s Tim Abromaitis

Abromaitis, who led the Irish in scoring in 2010-11, tore the ACL in his right knee on Nov. 25 and played just two games in his fifth season. He redshirted the 2008-09 season simply to save eligibility.
Notre Dame had hoped that Abromaitis’ academic prowess might earn him some sympathy from the NCAA. He earned his undergraduate degree in finance a year ahead of schedule and then last year wrapped up his MBA in Notre Dame’s intensified one-year program. In March he was named the Big East Scholar-Athlete of the Year, becoming the first player to win the award three years in a row.
In the end, none of this was enough to change of the mind of the NCAA.
Abromaitis finished his college career averaging 13.7 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game.
