Connecticut's Roscoe Smith made his name as a talented but scatterbrained player for the Huskies in his freshman and sophomore seasons. Now, with the Huskies headed for a season without the prospect of an NCAA Tournament berth due to APR sanctions, Smith will reportedly head to a program that is returning to the national stage: UNLV.
UConn’s Roscoe Smith Will Transfer To UNLV, According To Report
UConn’s Roscoe Smith is dashing west to UNLV.

CBS Sports's Jeff Goodman reports that Smith's father said Smith will transfer to UNLV on Friday, giving the Runnin' Rebels another strong frontcourt player. Mike Moser returns to Vegas for his junior season with Dave Rice's burgeoning power, and will be joined by top-10 recruit Anthony Bennett and Pittsburgh transfer Khem Birch.
Smith will not be eligible for the 2012-13 season, but will join that deep frontcourt in UNLV’s 2013-14 campaign. He brings a championship pedigree, having started for the Huskies in their 2011 NCAA Tournament final victory over Butler.
