The first major news of the Larry Brown era at SMU hit Friday morning when guard Josiah Turner announced he was transferring from Arizona to become a Mustang.
Josiah Turner Transferring From Arizona To SMU
Former elite recruit Josiah Turner will transfer to SMU and play for new coach Larry Brown.

“It’s a great fit for me,” Turner told CBSSports.com.
Turner, a former consensus top 40 recruit, has had a tumultuous first year out of high school. He was supplanted in the starting lineup by Jordin Mayes early on in the regular season, suspended multiple times for off-court issues and missed the last four games of Arizona's season. He wound up averaging 6.8 points and nearly as many turnovers (2.1) as assists (2.4).
The trouble continued for Turner after the season was over, as he was arrested and charged with extreme DUI last week.
Turner will have three years of eligibility remaining at SMU.
