Rodney Hood Transfers From Mississippi State To Duke
Talented forward Rodney Hood is heading from Mississippi State to Duke, where he will have three years of eligibility remaining.

In his one season as a Bulldog, Hood averaged 10.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and two assists. He announced his intent to transfer shortly after head coach Rick Stansbury’s retirement announcement in March and instantly became one of the most sought-after commodities in college basketball.
“We are very happy to add Rodney to our program,” Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski said in a statement. “We recruited him out of high school and followed his progress at Mississippi State, where he had an outstanding year. We believe that with him sitting out a year and getting prepared he will have a huge positive impact on our program.”
Hood, a versatile left-handed forward who stands 6'8, is just the fourth major college transfer to come to Duke since Krzyzewski took over the program in 1980. Most recently, sharp-shooting senior Seth Curry came to Duke in 2009 after one season at Liberty.
