Mark Turgeon’s Maryland squad will be one of the ones Abdul-Malik Abu will be choosing from when he decides where he’ll play college ball.
Maryland To Make Final List For Elite Recruit Abdul-Malik Abu
Class of 2014 recruit Abdul-Malik Abu says he will consider Maryland as one of the top schools on his list.

The 6’8 power forward from Kimball Union in Meridien, N.H., has drawn lots of offers already and is considered a top rebounding talent. While the class of 2014 recruit has some time before he makes a decision, he thinks highly of the Terrapins, per Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.
“Maryland will be one of the schools that will make my top list of schools when I decide to form a list,” Abu said following a visit to Maryland Monday.
His AAU coach elaborated:
“Abdul said the school was amazing,” Expressions 16s coach Tyron Boswell said. “They showed them all the facilities and all the great players who played there. And obviously it’s attractive with getting guys to the next level.”
Abu is visiting Temple Tuesday, and will also visit Kansas, UConn, Iowa State and Cincinnati in the upcoming weeks. Abu would be a big get for Turgeon, whose program had fallen on relatively hard times but landed the No. 18 class in the nation in 2012 according to ESPN, a class including big men Shaquille Cleare, Jake Layman, and Charles Mitchell.
