University of Connecticut’s men’s basketball coach Jim Calhoun was injured Saturday while riding a bicycle, according to a report from Kevin Duffy.

The injury, which is believed to be serious, happened on the day of the the team’s 2012 charity game. Calhoun, 70, was driven to the UConn health center Saturday night. Initial reports say Calhoun may have suffered a broken hip.

According to a report from Jeff Goodman of CBS Sports, Calhoun was riding a bike near his home when he hit a patch of dirt and his feet got caught in the pedals. After falling, he was unable to get up and called to his wife before being transported to the hospital.

This isn’t the first bicycle-related injury for Calhoun. In 2009, the coach broke five ribs after falling during a 50-mile charity bicycle ride. He was also diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2003 and skin cancer in 2008.
