Harvard Basketball Cheating Scandal: Brandyn Curry Expected To Withdraw From School

Brandyn Curry, the second Harvard Crimson men's basketball player implicated in a academic cheating scandal, is expected to withdraw from school on Tuesday, the Boston Herald's Dan Duggan is reporting. If Curry does withdraw, he will be the second Harvard basketball player to withdraw, as All-Ivy League teammate Kyle Casey is also expected to make the same decision, SI.com's Luke Winn is reporting.

Both co-captains are trying to preserve another season of eligibility by withdrawing from school, a move that will force both players to miss the 2012-13 season. The Crimson were expected to be one of the favorites to win the Ivy League, a feat they accomplished last season.

In '11-12, Curry (6'1, 195 pounds) averaged 7.9 points and 4.9 assists for the Crimson, who lost to the Vanderbilt Commodores in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
