Maurice Jones, the USC Trojans' leading scorer during the 2011-12 season, has been ruled academically ineligible and will miss the entirety of the 2012-13 season, the school and coach Kevin O'Neill announced late Saturday.
USC Leading-Scorer Maurice Jones To Miss 2012-13 Season
USC guard Maurice Jones will miss the entire 2012-13 season after being ruled academically ineligible.

Jones’s 13 points per game led a USC team that finished 6-26 overall and had just one Pac-12 conference victory. Jones also led the conference with 38.2 minutes played per game and was among the conference leaders in steals.
“Maurice Jones has been nothing short of magnificent for us for two years,” O’Neill told USCTrojans.com. “Mo has been a great guy and great player and we want him to graduate from USC. I support him 100 percent in all that he does.”
Redshirt senior forward Aaron Fuller, who averaged 10.6 points per game last season, is now the Trojans' leading returning scorer. In 2012, the Trojans will also welcome back guard Jio Fontan, who missed all of last season after tearing his ACL during a team trip to Brazil.
