Maryland AD Wants Kinder, Gentler Terps Fans

Hatchling Maryland athletic director Kevin Anderson may find himself in over his head with one of his first campaigns at his new post: Getting Terps fans to clean up their language in the stadium. SB Nation DC has a good laugh at the prospect:

Anderson is looking to get rid of profanity and inappropriate behavior at Maryland home games.

"Sometimes, I guess I'm old school and old-fashioned. Some of the behavior I just don't understand," he said.

As a Maryland Alum and former member of the organized riot that is the Maryland student section, I can't help but giggle when I read that.

Look, we understand that not every school wants to devolve delightfully into LSU, Oregon, or Ohio State. But Maryland’s 4-1 and trailing only Florida State in wins in the Atlantic division. Don’t these kids at least deserve to express their shock to the fullest?
