When last we saw our heroes, Auburn was leading Arkansas 37-35 at the end of the third quarter. Since then:
Auburn Vs. Arkansas: Tigers Blow Game Open Late, Win 65-43
- Tyler Wilson passed to Greg Childs for a 23-yard touchdown and completed a 2-point conversion, also to Childs.
- Cam Newton passed for a 15-yard touchdown to Emory Blake.
- An Arkansas fumble by Broderick Green was returned for 47 yards and a touchdown by Zac Etheridge. Things will very shortly fall apart.
- Tyler Wilson was intercepted on his first pass on the following drive; the ball was taken for 3 yards, and Cam Newton punched it two more times for another Auburn touchdown. This is where we would like to point out that up until this point, backup Arkansas quarterback Wilson, a redshirt sophomore, was 17 of 19 for 291 yards and four touchdowns.
- On the third play from scrimmage after the next Auburn kickoff, Wilson was intercepted again at his own 29.
- This is about where Michael Dyer got in the game for Arkansas, carrying the ball on first down for 9 yards and on second down for a 38-yard score.
And with Auburn leading 65-43, we wind to a merciful close. Somebody get Wes Byrum some groin ice.
