It would be easy to look at Connecticut’s disappointing 3-4 start -- during which the Huskies have defeated only Texas Southern, Buffalo and Vanderbilt -- and blame it on a defense that ranks next-to-last in the Big East in total defense and scoring defense. But Randy Edsall knows the real reason his team is struggling: There’s a spy.
Randy Edsall Thinks Someone Is Spying On UConn
↵Yes, apparently information about UConn practices is finding its way onto the Interwebs.
↵↵“One of our former players’ parents e-mailed [program assistant Joanne Fazio],” Edsall said. “We had somebody that was giving a blow-by-blow of everything that happened in practice. We might have to practice inside all the time now.”
↵↵Edsall thinks he has the spy outmaneuvered, using rainy weather as a pretense for moving practice indoors.
↵He should know that this won’t work. After all, a determined spy needs only X-ray equipment to collect and report the information to his superiors in Morgantown or Pittsburgh. The spy will eventually have to be found -- and eliminated. By which we mean suspended. Of course.
