The SEC may or may not be the top conference in college football this season. But it sure seems to be the conference the human polls like best.
College Football Rankings: Week 10 USA Today Poll Likes SEC As Usual
Six SEC teams show up in the USA Today coaches poll for Week 10, and for the first time since Alabama’s loss to South Carolina, one is in the top two: Auburn, which leapfrogged Boise State this week, is ranked second.
All six SEC teams are in the top 21 teams ranked, and five are from the uncommonly strong SEC West. South Carolina, the lone ranked team from the SEC East, comes in at 17th.
It is assumed that the winner of the SEC West, likely either Auburn or Alabama, will also win the SEC Championship Game in December, and likely be one of the two teams to play in the BCS Championship Game, even with a loss.

- No. 2 Auburn
- No. 5 Alabama
- No. 11 LSU
- No. 17 South Carolina
- No. 19 Arkansas
- No. 21 Mississippi State
