Alabama was supposed to have one of the best offensive lines in the country this year, and the unit certainly lived up to that billing early this season. Today? Not so much.South Carolina collected its seventh sack of Greg McElroy just moments ago, forcing an Alabama punt on fourth and 23 with under six minutes to go. If Alabama’s going to continue its winning ways, it will take a comeback of epic and legendary proportions.

Alabama moved the sticks on a Marquis Maze catch that looked questionable on replay. It got third-down conversions on gritty runs. And it got no close to South Carolina on the scoreboard.

After stalling in the Gamecocks’ red zone, Alabama sent out kicker Jeremy Shelley for a 31-yard field goal. He missed, and the score in Columbia is still 21-3 in the home team’s favor.
