There are wide receivers who do absurdly graceful things under duress on a weekly basis. The SEC, it was widely assumed, had two of the best at the position in the college ranks entering this season, in Georgia’s A.J. Green and Alabama’s Julio Jones. Each has done his part to support that idea.

But South Carolina's Alshon Jeffery often gets forgotten in that discussion. That's a mistake.
That's Jeffery hauling in a one-handed catch against Alabama star Dre Kirkpatrick, who will almost assuredly go on to play football in the NFL. It looked even more unfathomable and impressive in real time, and gets even more ludicrous when one considers that Jeffery's a sophomore.
Maybe he’s not quite in Green’s or Jones’ league yet, when it comes to delivering consistency along with awesome flashes. But Alshon Jeffery helped his team upset the reigning national champions today, and pulled off one marvelous play in the process. Somehow, I doubt he’ll be forgotten in the “Who is the best receiver in the SEC?” discussion in the future.
