Former Mizzou Commit Sheldon Richardson Enjoys The Chase

As teenagers, every single one of us acted like an entitled obnoxious prat in public, probably on more occasions than we or our long-suffering parents care to remember. The difference between our bratty ways and, say, star defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson's is that most of us aren't cogs driving an entire industry that's sprung up around the whims of young men who aren't even legal adults yet.

Richardson, a blue-chip defensive prospect out of St. Louis, has been an early in-state commit to the Missouri Tigers since 2007, according to Rivals. He's spent the past two years cooling his heels in a California juco to get his grades up, and lo! Here comes USC, and there goes Richardson's LOI. He claims Monte Kiffin will give him the best shot at the NFL during what he says will be his only year at a I-A program before declaring for the draft. And the followup questions, they are solid gold:

Richardson [...] said he still plans to take other recruiting visits.
[...]
He was vague when asked whether he had told MU of his decision yet.
“Uh, back and forth. I’m going to call them later,” he said. “It’s kind of hard to tell them I’m not going there no more. Or I think I’m not going no more.”
Asked if that meant there still was wiggle room in his decision-making, he said, “A little wiggle room.”
All together now, Tigers: So you’re saying there’s a chance!
