BCS Standings: Week 11’s Impact Games

SB Nation’s BCS Evolution examines the remaining games that will have the most direct impact on the 2010 BCS standings. In Week 11, with a decidedly lackluster slate of games on tap, there are only four games of any great import: No. 1 Oregon vs. California, Georgia vs. No. 2 Auburn, No. 4 Boise State vs. Idaho, LA-Monroe vs. No. 5 LSU.
If these sound lackluster, it’s because they’re largely composed of should-be cakewalks that will really only affect the BCS standings if a top-five team faceplants against an unranked opponent. The Broncos, of course, have already sailed past their conference cupcake, grinding Idaho into nothingness in Friday night WACtion. But with Cal’s stellar record at home this season and Georgia gunning for an Auburn team facing a world of off-field distractions -- well, it’s 2010. The year of the giant-bat upset. No No. 1 team has proven infallible just yet.
