Greg McElroy Suffers Concussion; Alabama QB Appears Likely To Start Bowl Game

During Friday’s Iron Bowl, Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy was knocked to the ground and left the game; it was later determined that he suffered a concussion. Of course, the Tide’s primary concern after the game was the health of their star quarterback. Fortunately, head coach Nick Saban is saying that McElroy should have no trouble starting a bowl game:

“Greg has a concussion. He’s going to be OK. Nothing serious — he checked out good, so we don’t have any issues or problems from that standpoint,” Saban said.

This is excellent news for the senior quarterback, as well as the team he’s led to some very big wins this season. For more on Tide football, check in with SB Nation’s Alabama blog, Roll Bama Roll.
