Cotton Bowl Welcomes Back Perennial Favorite Texas A&M

Texas A&M’s intentions to make a return trip to the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic just got official, via the bowl’s own Twitter account. This will be the Aggies’ first trip to the Cotton Bowl since 2005 (when they suffered a 38-7 loss to Tennessee), but overall they’re second only to Texas in Dallas postseason appearances.

The Aggies suffered an ignominious three-game losing streak in the first half of the season, but rolled off six straight wins on the rebound, including shocking upsets of Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Kansas to finish as one of five ranked teams in the Big 12. They’ll face an SEC West opponent in Dallas, probably Alabama or LSU, and will provide tough competition for either team.
Bowl selections will continue to roll in throughout the week, and we’ll be following them all right here. Stay tuned to this StoryStream right on through the selection show this Sunday night.
