UConn Should Probably Just Give All Their Athletes Laptops Moving Forward

In 2005, UConn basketball players Marcus Williams and A.J. Price were arrested for breaking into dorm rooms and stealing four laptops, two of which were found in Price's room. The dark stain on the UConn athletic program seemed to be a one-time issue and the kind of crime no Husky would be dump enough to try and commit again.

Enter UConn football defensive end Marcus Campbell. Campbell was kicked off the football team last week for a "violation of team policies." Those reasons probably had a lot to do with the fact that he's allegedly a copycat laptop thief!

One week after being suspended from the UConn football team, defensive end Marcus Campbell was arrested by campus police for stealing a laptop. The 22-year-old was arrested Monday outside an academic building on campus on an outstanding warrant for fifth-degree larceny.

Campbell is accused of taking a backpack that did not belong to him on Sept. 29. The backpack contained a laptop computer and other items that police say were valued at a total of $876.

I understand that its expensive to outfit every UConn student with a laptop but, the legal and PR costs might just be worth it moving forward.
