2011 NFL Draft Prospects: Troy WR Jerrel Jernigan In New Orleans Bowl

A lower-tier bowl game on the first day of postseason play isn't necessarily where one might expect to find a top-15 NFL draft receiving prospect, but Troy's got one in their downfield corps. Jerrel Jernigan, a diminutive double-threat wide receiver and kick returner for the Trojans, is projected as a third- to fifth-round draft pick for 2011.

Selected to an All-Sun Belt for the past three seasons, Jernigan has broken a double handful of school receiving records, including that of all-time leading receiver, over the course of a four-year career that's seen him record over 3,000 yards on 255 catches. He has cracked triple digits in a single game only once this year, but he did it in style: 209 receiving yards against Arkansas State, with just ten receptions.

Other pertinent facts: Jernigan is a native of Eufaula, Alabama. He's a Cancer (on the zodiac calendar, not in the locker room). He also photographs impressively in a shiny jersey; and yes, internet, he's on Twitter.
