As recently as 24-hours ago, Qualcomm Stadium, the site for Thursday night’s Poinsettia Bowl between Navy and San Diego State, was under as much as 10 inches of water. But an all-night effort from work crews to pump out roughly 1.5 million gallons of water worked, and the bowl logo was being painted on a “damp and slushy” field Thursday morning.

And now? Less than four hours away from kickoff and the field looks ... great (photo via Adam Jacobi):
One has to think the field will still be somewhat rain-soaked -- bowl executive director Bruce Binkowski said as much earlier today, admitting "The field may be a little damp and slushy during the game because it's so absorbent down there" -- but considering how things looked on Wednesday, the turnaround is pretty amazing.
