The second bowl matchup of the 2010 college football season has been set, as the 7-5 Kansas State Wildcats have accepted an invitation to the inaugural New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium, where they’ll face the Syracuse Orange on the afternoon of December 30. Brace yourselves for close to a month of geographically inaccurate “from Manhattan to Manhattan YUK YUK” jokes, although Bill Snyder swanning about New York City is something we would very much like to see.
The Wildcats have survived a tumultuous season to get this far, opening hot with wins over UCLA, Iowa State and eventual C-USA frontrunner Central Florida, but lost to every ranked opponent they faced (and Colorado besides) and were very nearly upset in a shootout with a head-coachless North Texas team in their regular-season finale. SB Nation Kansas City offers its congratulations on a hard-fought year with a rewarding end.
