I suppose the Liberty Bowl has actually started now.
Liberty Bowl, Georgia Vs. UCF: Bulldogs Cap Sleepy First Quarter With Field Goal
Georgia finished a 15-play, 95-yard drive with a 20-yard Blair Walsh field goal, taking an early 3-0 lead in the Liberty Bowl against UCF.
Neither the Bulldogs or the Knights have been able to do all that much today, despite the talents of freshman quarterbacks Aaron Murray and Jeffrey Godfrey, respectively. Godfrey’s completed just two passes so far, and Murray’s been content to dink and dunk his way down the field, which is great for winning games and bad for keeping afternoon viewers awake.
The longest play so far in the game? An 18-yard pass to A.J. Green. That is a gross underutilization of A.J. Green’s talents.
There’s plenty of time for Murray to hook up with Green on a double reverse flea flicker that covers 80 yards and ends with Green doing a back handspring into the end zone, I guess. But I’m not entirely sure anyone will be awake enough to appreciate it.
