Time for the awarding of the Outland Trophy, given to the nation's most outstanding interior lineman in college football. Mark May is up to present, and he's talking almost unintelligibly fast, like it's the Oscars and they're running over time. This year's honoree is the burly, mansome Gabe Carimi of Wisconsin, a redshirt senior offensive tackle. Carimi beat out Colorado's Nate Solder and Florida State's Rodney Hudson, and follows the great Ndamukong Suh of Nebraska, keeping the award in the Big Ten. He's also the second Badger to receive the award in five years; fellow Wisconsinite Joe Thomas took home the award in 2006.
Listed at 6'7" and 327 pounds, he can expect to hear his name called early on Draft Day 2011. Look for him to make one last impact as the Badgers meet TCU in this year's Rose Bowl.
