Some details are trickling in for the contract extension Chip Kelly signed on Tuesday with Oregon to remain the head coach there through 2015.
George Schroeder also reports that Kelly’s new contract has a $4M buyout, though it comes with a caveat.

Oregon is currently ranked No. 4 in both the AP and Coaches Polls and they’re the runaway favorite to win the Pac-10. I suppose there’s no better time for the University to lock up the head coach who made sure they’re in that position. So that’s what they did, via the Oregon Twitterfeed.
Ducks fans have been thrilled with Kelly’s performance so far, especially in the face of the many incidents that plagued the program last year.
