↵We started the ballgame with the idea that we wanted to make (UCLA) work from side-to-side,” Davis said. “When you do that, you’re not going to be as vertical as you are with play-action or whatever. All of that (horizontal passing) was play-calling because of the way we wanted to start the ball game. The idea was we wanted to go at a fast-tempo going from side-to-side. We felt that would work to our advantage.↵Yeah, that kind of does explain a lot.
