Florida’s Will Hill Says ‘Some Blogger’ Hacked His Twitter Account!

Florida Gators free safety Will Hill's infamous Twitter account may have been shut down with a quickness, but chatter about its contents has dogged the junior as he prepares for the 2011 NFL Draft. Hill has hit upon a keen defense, however: Blame hackers!

“The Twitter thing just came up to me,” he said Monday. “I haven’t been on Twitter for the last five or six months. I called my people to see what was going on. I deleted everything but some blogger cut and pasted some things. Somehow, my thing has been hacked.

Ah, the my thing has been hacked excuse, last seen being used by Vanderbilt when everyone, everywhere roundly mocked their use of Facebook to announce the hiring of James Franklin, and a handy stand-in in today's culture for "something happened on the internet that I was either unaware could happen or didn't think would happen."Since our own Every Day Should Be Saturday was ground zero for exposure of Hill's Twitterin' ways, we can safely extrapolate that Hill is accusing author Spencer Hall of hacking his Twitter account. Reached for comment, Hall retorted Tuesday morning:

[This] is true if hacked does not mean hacked, but instead means “done by me and then deleted when ‘some blogger’ posted the choice excerpts.”
What you can’t see, thanks to the account deletion, is that these tweets stretch back months, with most of the interesting bits timestamped in June and July. So what Hill is insisting happened here is that “some blogger” hacked his Twitter account more than six months ago, filled it with untruthful accounts of a summer to remember, went dormant for all of football season and then re-emerged to torment Hill, perhaps as punishment for early departure from the Gators. Totally plausible! But let’s all part friends: If it’s all made up, the “hacking” also included the digital insertion of Will Hill into his Twitter profile picture there, with the nice young ladies in the bathing suits. Look how popular you look, Will! Awww, nicest hacker ever!
