The 2011 NFL draft process is underway with the Senior Bowl taking place this week. Located in Mobile, AL, the 2011 Senior Bowl is a chance for representatives from all 32 NFL teams to meet and talk with the various NFL prospects participating in the game.
2011 NFL Draft: CB Patrick Peterson Meeting With Panthers, Broncos At Senior Bowl
Some of the players expected to be top picks don't participate because they don't want to hurt their draft stock or they don't participate because they're not seniors.
LSU CB Patrick Peterson is not in the Senior Bowl but did make the trip to Mobile to conduct a workout for teams. He's expected to hear his name called early in the 2011 NFL draft and various teams are meeting with him at the Senior Bowl this week.
According to Aaron Wilson of National Football Post, Peterson has meetings set up with the Panthers (1st pick), Broncos (2nd), 49ers (7th), Redskins (10th), Texans (11th), Dolphins (15th) and Saints (24th). The Saints eyeing a move up in the draft? If they want Peterson, that would probably have to be the case. A shutdown corner, which Peterson says he is, is a player any team wants so there will be plenty of interest in him leading up to the draft.
By the way, his father tells Wilson that Peterson plans to run the 40 yard dash in the 4.2 second range next month at the NFL Combine.
