We're battling poverty and overpowering sleepiness here in the 2011 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, where there's only been a three-point swing on the scoreboard since we last saw our heroes.
Boston College turns out another ruthlessly efficient three-and-out, and that'll do it for the first quarter of play. The second quarter kicks off with a Nevada three-and-out, followed by a BC possession that takes three minutes to go 16 yards. Anybody's appetite whetted for tomorrow's title game yet? Huh? Huh??
Anyway, Nevada gets the ball back at their own 20-yard line, and Vai Taua runs up the middle for no gain on first down, which means six more weeks of winter. Colin Kaepernick dinks and dunks around for a bit, and a 15-yard pass to the impossibly cowboyishly-named Virgil Green augmented by a 15-yard BC penalty is the best offense we'll see out of this drive, as the 'Pack settles for a 32-yard field goal off the toe of Anthony Martinez.
That is all the scoring that will happen right now. At the half, Nevada leads Boston College, 17-7.
